Oriental Poppy Royal Wedding, Papaver orientale ‘Royal Wedding’, has large, black seed capsule centers surrounded by dark purple stamens which enhance the 4-6″ wide, white, papery blooms. ‘Royal Wedding’ has strong stems covered with fine “hair” which support the large blooms from late spring through early summer. Like many other poppies ‘Royal Wedding’ will go dormant after the bloom cycle is complete. Poppies are excellent cut flowers and can also be dried for floral arrangements. They are of easiest culture and require very little care.
